Critical Collective > Islamophobia in the West - What's the real Story?

In the context of fierce anti-Muslim sentiment and hate crimes against Muslims, primarily in France, but also in the Netherlands and throughout the Western World, islamophobia remains controversial.
While some commentators insist that there is no such thing as islamophobia, others go as far as drawing parallels between modern islamophobia and the antisemitism of the 1930s.

How should we understand anti-Muslim sentiments?
Is fear and hatred of Muslims prevalent in Western countries?
What is the connection between terror, Islam, and islamophobia?
Can certain people benefit from islamophobia to advance particular interests?
What strategies can Muslim communities employ against Muslim hatred and anti-Muslim sentiments?

Join us for an evening with expert speakers and a lively discussion.
